Tuesday Live Blog – Taco Mac Insider Johns Creek

Photos from Tuesday evening’s Taco Mac Insider event

6:57 pm: Randy Waters is on with J. Mike giving Niki feedback on her performance tonight. He began by giving her a solid “B” overall, then praised her ability to adapt to the interruption in the middle of the interview. He did suggest that she could have come back from the break in the middle of the interview and talk a little bit about the challenges of raising two kids while being in such a high-profile/high-pressure industry. Waters went on to praise the quality of her questions and her comfort level on camera. The Falcons new media crew agreed – Niki did a fantastic job. (Voting for your favorite Taco Mac Insider Contestant will commence on Thursday morning of this week after all three of the ladies complete their first skills challenge. Stay tuned for Rebecca Hill tomorrow night – we’ll be live blogging, but why not head down to the Taco Mac Prado and take it in first hand?)

Niki and Michael during the interview

6:51 pm: Niki asks Mike who he has on his iPod, noting that she asked Curtis Lofton last night what’s on his favorite playlist (he responded Miley Cyrus – no joke). Jenkins said he’s got a very diverse taste, and you can find anything from Blink-182 to Jay-Z. Niki concluded her interview with a line of questioning about social media, namely his foray into Twitter.

6:42 pm: Jenkins is back, and Niki is unphased. The interview stage has grown by one person. Jenks’ strapping 1 1/2 year old son, Bryce, joined him on stage with Niki. The questions resume, and Niki is touching on the Falcons’ back-to-back winning seasons and a brief discussion of Jenkins’ prolific signal-caller, Matt Ryan.

6:35 pm: A little bump in the road as one of Mike’s sons was crying for him off-stage, and he went to take care of him. Niki is learning the perils of live television, but she’s a total trooper, relaxed and ready for Jenks to return. One television maxim holds true tonight: expect the unexpected.

6:32 pm: Niki is on stage, and Michael Jenkins is on the hot seat. Jenkins just pulled on his characteristic #12 jersey. Niki is digging into Jenkins’ Ohio State roots (much to the chagrin of fellow Ohio native Randy Waters).

Michael Jenkins and Niki Noto during the Taco Mac Skills Challenge

6:20 pm: We’re underway! Randy Waters is talking Falcons football with J. Michael Moore from AF.com, and Niki is waiting to go on. Waters on what the Falcons will look at with the 19th overall pick in the first round…he like OLB Sergio Kindle of Texas and DL Brandon Graham from Michigan. We’re giving away a few Draft Hats to Falcons fans answering J. Mike’s trivia questions.

6:05 pm: Jenkins in the house, along with his two adorable boys. Future football players, to be sure…big kids! Niki Noto now knows who she’s interviewing, and she’s at her MacBook, getting in some last-minute preparation.

Niki Noto prepares for her big moment

5:43 pm: Just hearing that Jenkins is running a little behind. Which is all the better for those rushing over here after work. Still plenty of great seating, but it’s filling up fast. And don’t forget, Randy Waters from 11Alive Sports is joining us as the celebrity judge. We’ve yet to see him, either…traffic issues in Johns Creek tonight?

Cameras await Niki Noto, tonight's Taco Mac Insider contestant

5:33 pm: We just told tonight’s TMI contestant, Niki Noto, which player she will be interviewing tonight. Wide receiver Michael Jenkins is in the house at Taco Mac Johns Creek (map). Come out and mingle with Jenks…he’ll be here shortly. Photos and running commentary over the next 90 minutes…hit refresh often.

Elam is to retire? How is Bryant, is he doing workouts. We had kicker problems during a few games last season. Bryant came in and picked up the slack, can we get an interview with him?
